This event will explore the colonial dimensions of the U.S. southern border to critically examine the political stakes of border enforcement, particularly in the face of Indigenous displacement and migration (Munshi), and will position O’odham land at the center of analysis to ask how borders and borderlands are produced and negotiated by resident communities, employing vocabularies of space, place, and Indigeneity (Painter).
